The thought of allowing someone else to tell us how to think, feel, and act on our body’s behalf pisses us off. We’ve been in that state of mind long enough for it to morph into anger, sadness, and inevitably, the motivation to change it. We often forget that our bodies are ours. We neglect to celebrate their accomplishments and honor their capabilities. We are conditioned to use our bodies as a scapegoat for hard emotions. Blaming our body is a more convenient way to redirect our discomfort and, the worst part? Diet culture benefits from it. It benefits when we’ve been convinced that we’re the problem. The way we see it, we are our own solution, and WE (Frankie and I, along with countless other incredible women doing the work) want to help you navigate towards a life of food freedom and body acceptance to break up poor body image, for good!
